Ashley Hammelman grew up in Indiana and used her past time to create her own stop motion films. In her hometown, the movie theater was one of the main activities, so she decided to get a job there and spent her hours after school enjoying films at the cinema where she worked. After graduating from college, she went on to work on Reality Television shows in Los Angeles. Eventually, she moved back closer to her hometown and landed in Nashville, where she completed another degree in makeup arts. This landed her jobs in horror films around the Nashville area and eventually, she stepped out and pursued directing her own short film. Her passion for creating lies in telling stories about mental health and the inner battles that one can endure. She is currently working to receive her Masters in Marriage in Family Therapy and she hopes to spread awareness and create an open dialogue for people who are struggling with their own mental health.
“The Monster Inside” is Ashley’s directorial debut.
