Director Statement

“Cooper…the idea for this…really came from a dream?”

“Yes, Harry, it did.”

– Twin Peaks

boudoir_1
The concept of BOUDOIR originally came from a terrifying, David Lynch-y-Twin Peaks-inpsired dream I had at age 13, where I stumbled upon a body wrapped in plastic.

In a panic, I called 911, and turned the body over, only to discover it was…ME.

Although BOUDOIR does not follow that dream per se, that revolutionary moment of discovering one’s own body was something…

A PEACEFUL MAN, Australia, 4min, Action/Thriller
Directed by Harrison Norris

Beaten within an inch of his life, a peaceful man has a gruesome epiphany through violence.

Director’s Statement

Hi there, I’m Harrison Norris, the writer/director/editor/producer/etc of ‘A Peaceful Man’

a_peaceful_man_1
The short was conceived from the concept that: no matter how rational or non-violent we see ourselves, under the right circumstances we are all capable of anything; whether we know it or not. The film is a fine slice of time, revolving around the exact moment the titular peaceful man, Harper, realises he is capable of monstrous things to save himself; and his transformation into a different man entirely.

The short was an entirely self-funded passion project, and required me to take up several months of stunt work in order to bring it, and its graphic novel adaption, to life.

a_peaceful_man_3
I have always been strongly drawn to graphic novels so I enlisted Peter Pound to create an adaption of the film. Peter was the conceptual artist on Mad Max 4: Fury Road, and one of the men who helped kick-start the Australian indie horror comics movement in Australia, back in the 80’s, so it’s been a privilege sharing this journey with him.
