Director’s Statement
Hi there, I’m Harrison Norris, the writer/director/editor/producer/etc of ‘A Peaceful Man’

The short was conceived from the concept that: no matter how rational or non-violent we see ourselves, under the right circumstances we are all capable of anything; whether we know it or not. The film is a fine slice of time, revolving around the exact moment the titular peaceful man, Harper, realises he is capable of monstrous things to save himself; and his transformation into a different man entirely.
The short was an entirely self-funded passion project, and required me to take up several months of stunt work in order to bring it, and its graphic novel adaption, to life.

I have always been strongly drawn to graphic novels so I enlisted Peter Pound to create an adaption of the film. Peter was the conceptual artist on Mad Max 4: Fury Road, and one of the men who helped kick-start the Australian indie horror comics movement in Australia, back in the 80’s, so it’s been a privilege sharing this journey with him.
